The domain of photometric data requires active archives which should be able to check the quality of the data, locate gaps and interact with the observers. The main requirement of archiving is to contribute to improving the quality of the data and rejecting that which is bad. It is the only way for disseminating reliable data and will provide future generations of astronomers with data that retains some interest.
