New photometric observations obtained in 1982 and 1983, and previous observations, covering a period of 53 years, are used to derive accurate maxima for CY Aqr. Results establish a monotonic decrement of the period of pulsation and an ephemeris for the times of maxima given by 2440892.637 + 0.061038318E - 4.58 x 10 to the -13th E squared. The period at any time is given by 0.061038318 - 9.16 x 10 to the 13th E, and the parameters of CY Aqr are explained by models of low mass (0.2 solar masses).
