In the present paper, the ascending and descending fluxes and the radiant heat influx at 0.3 to 3 microns in the Venusian atmosphere are studied on the basis of a solution of the transport equation, obtained by the method of spherical harmonics. In the range between 0.5 and 1 micron, the results of the calculations are in approximate agreement with direct measurements on board Venera 9 and 10. The solar and thermal radiation fluxes at the Venusian surface are found to be comparable, in agreement with predictions allowing for the greenhouse effect. The basic region of the cloud layer is found to absorb 80% of the solar energy.
