Pre-main-sequence evolution has been revised in the light of the present improved knowledge of several physical mechanisms. Good agreement is found with previous computations. Comparison with the relaxation method of Caloi et al. (1967) shows that such a procedure is also able to give minor characteristics of the chemical distribution in main-sequence structures.
