The discovery of two counterrotating gaseous disks in the otherwise
normal early-type spiral NGC4826 is reported. This is the most disklike
galaxy in which any kinematic substructure has yet been found. This
discovery raises the possibility that even spiral galaxies may have
undergone a significant degree of structural evolution due to mergers.
