The effect of external spheroidal forces to a spherically symmetric nonrotating elastic isotropic (SNREI) model of the Earth is studied and the response is described with Love-Shida numbers. The response of the SNREI Earth model to external forcing of lunisolar origin is completely of spheroidal origin in the elastic part of our planet (i.e. in the crust and mantle). For a study of the Earth's tidal stresses and forces at the CMB it is interesting to know: what is the influence of a not perfectly liquid film in the core at the CMB on the Love-Shida numbers. It was found that the effective shear modulus of this film cannot be greater than one per cent of the shear modulus in the mantle at the CMB. An analysis of the spheroidal lunisolar stressed acting at both sides of the CMB shows that the stress differences produce spheroidal and toroidal displacements in the core relative to the mantle.
