Stark Broadening: Argon Lines, Stark Broadening: Krypton
Scientific paper
Absolute spectral radiances of the resonance lines of Ar I, Ar II and Kr I have been measured end-on in a cascaded arc plasma. The lines are compared with numerical results obtained by means of a radiative transfer model which is tailored to the experiment. The product of Stark width and transition probability is derived from a comparison of calculated and measured line profiles. The Stark broadening constants for these lines are found from the product using published transition probabilities. Comparisons are made with literature data.
