We propose to analyze high-resolution long-slit echelle spectra of Jupiter's auroral Lyman alpha emissions obtained by STIS during the Cassini flyby of 12/2000-1/2001. We will use a newly-developed velocity shear resonance line radiative transfer code to extract upper atmosphere wind velocities {using an asymmetry produced when the emergent self-reversed line is scattered by fast-moving H atoms high above the aurora}. These velocities will then be used {along with other extracted quantities, such as temperature and composition} to constrain a newly-developed Jupiter Thermosphere General Circulation Model {JTGCM}. The results will enhance our understanding of how Jupiter's aurora manages to affect its upper atmospheric dynamics on a global scale.
