Attention is given to infrared detectors, heterodyne-, Fabry-Perot-, and Fourier-spectroscopy, tunable laser technology as applied to astronomy, characteristics of infrared telescopes and instrumentation, as well as astronomical applications to HII regions and the interrelationship of IR and radio observations. Topics of the papers include NH3 spectral line measurements on earth and Jupiter, continuous wave spin flip lasers for astronomical applications, a submillimeter photometer for the ESO 3.6-m telescope, an optically pumped molecular laser, laser frequency synthesis, radio and infrared measurements of SO galaxies, Fabry-Perot FIR lasers, a lamellar grating Fourier spectrometer for a balloon-borne telescope, and the optical system of a submillimeter photometer.
