The nearly parabolic motion of comets is examined in the external variant of the restricted circular three-body problem. The limit of stochastic motion is estimated. If ap is much less than q (where q is the perihelion distance of the cometary orbit and ap is the orbital radius of the planet), the maximum stochasticity occurs at the comet-orbit inclination I = 70.5 deg. Neptune is found to have the most extended zone of influence on the comet motion.
