The observed lensing rate can place constraints on the cosmological density parameters, particularly the cosmological constant (Ω Λ ). Over the next year a number of advances will usher in a new generation of lensing statistics, combining a large unbiased radio sample (the Cosmic Lens All-Sky Survey) with significantly improved analysis techniques (which will include more realistic representations of galaxy mass distributions). Here we outline the prospects for extracting interesting cosmology in this brave new era of lensing statistics. Specifically, we use a set of simulated lens surveys to determine the ability of lensing statistics analyses to recover the true cosmology. We also discuss uncertainties in the input parameters and their likely impact on the derived constraints.
