The field distortion coefficient c = (0.489 + or - 0.001) x 0.0001 mm/ cu mm was obtained from photographs of the Praesepe cluster for the AZT-3 reflector (D = 45 cm, F = 2.035 m). Although the AZT-3 was not designed for photographic astrometry, its aperture ratio could qualify it for use in determining cometary positions. After the distortion symmetry center is found analytically with an accuracy of 0.1 mm and after allowance is made for the regular field distortion with a 37 arcmin diameter, the reflector can be considered suitable for the determination of the positions of single objects.
