We propose to continue an LGS-AO search for companions in extremely-wide M-dwarf binaries. The observations address a crucial disagreement between observations of M-dwarf stellar binarity and the currently favoured formation models. Our initial survey has revealed intriguing differences in the close-companion populations of "unusually wide" and "normal" M-dwarf binaries. Our Gemini observations will push our study to much lower total masses and to much larger system separations.
