The deficiency of sulfur in the SMC is determined by comparing the abundance in the SMC supergiants to the abundance in the galactic supergiants. It is found that, the deficiency of sulfur is the same as the deficiency of iron (about -0.6 dex).
Moreover, it is shown that the sulfur abundance is the same in the stars and in the H II regions of the SMC. The S/O ratio, as determined from the stars or from the H II regions, is also the same in our Galaxy and in the SMC. On the contrary, the ratio C/O is the same in our Galaxy and in the SMC following the stellar analyses, but it is significantly lower in the SMC than in the Galaxy as far as H II regions (or planetary nebulae) are considered. No clear explanation of this anomaly has been found.
