A study is made of the possibility of realization, at early epochs of the evolution of the universe (z = about 2), of the conditions for production of gigamasers with luminosity 10,000-100,000. Particular attention is given to the main lines (1667, 1665 MHz) of the ground rotational state 2Pi(3/2) of the OH molecule in the central regions of merging galaxies.
