We present optical spectroscopy (6200 - 10100 Angstroms) of a set of T dwarfs identified by the 2MASS and Sloan surveys. Atomic and molecular features are noted, including the detection of Rb I in the brightest T dwarf so far identified, 2MASS J0559-14. Comparisons are made with the latest L dwarfs from Kirkpatrick et al. to show the continuity of the optical data across the L - T spectral transition. Spectral diagnostics are discussed and a preliminary sequence is shown.
