Photoelectric photometry of the Halley comet has been carried out at the 91 cm telescope of the Catania Astrophysical Observatory using the C2, C3, CN, BC and UC IHW Standard filters. To compute the gas production rates of the C2, C3, CN molecules the authors used the Haser model; they computed the production rates of solids too, that are supposed to scatter the continuum radiation. The results show that the pre-perihelion and post-perihelion production rates, both for gas and dust, have a different behaviour with solar distance. It is not possible to reconcile the results as a whole with an H2O ice dominated sublimation. They seem however to be not incompatible with a nucleus of polymer-like composition.
