The BL Lacertae Object A0 0235+164 dramatically increased in brightness on October 20, 1997. This outburst was dectected with the 1 meter SARA (Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy) telescope located at Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO). As a result of our observations, AO 0235+164 was also observed during the outburst by the Rossi X-ray Timing Experiment (RXTE), Foggy Bottom Observatory (Colgate), and University of Michigan 26 meter Radio telescope as a part of a Target of Opportunity (TOO) program. We present here the historical lightcurve A0 0235+164, multifrequency observations and multifrequency spectra collected during the 1997 through 1998 outburst.
