Multichannel quantum scattering calculations are employed to investigate the low-energy (Ecoll≤ 7 eV) region of the interaction between gas-phase neutral coronene and environmental electrons in interstellar clouds. The presence of several resonance features is revealed by our calculations and their symmetry characterization is also reported. Their likelihood of leading to anionic stabilization for the title molecule via different transient negative ions formed at low electron energies is also discussed and analysed through the present findings. These results bear significant information on the possible role of negative ions originating from the larger members of the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the interstellar medium.
