Scientific paper

This program images two main sequence stars HR4796 and Epsilon Eridani. Both have large IRAS excesses, and the images are taken using WFPC2 to search for circumstellar disks. Exposure times were chosen to provide high signal-to-noise ratios in the possible disk locations. The stellar cores will be highly saturated, but the anti-blooming property of the WFPC2 CCDs will constrain bleeding in the vertical direction. This will allow us to search for the disks perpendicular to the bleed direction. Images are taken in the center of the PC, where we have suitable PSFs from other programs. Also, in one case, the star will be placed near the pyramid apex in the PC, so that we can look for any disk in the WFs, avoiding light scattered from the PC CCD. A 2 by 2 raster, 1 arcsec on a side, is taken around that position to better separate PSF artifacts. Images are also taken in the center of WF3, in F606W where the scatter at a given radius in arcsec is less than in the PC, and good PSF information is available.
