We will obtain a spectrum of the bright quasar Q0015+162,which is on the edge of the high-redshift (z=0.548) cluster ofgalaxies, CL 0016+16. A redshift survey of this cluster andits environs has recently been completed at the CFHT (CNOC1),providing redshifts of ~100 faint galaxies in this fieldbetween z=0.3 and 0.55. The FOS spectrum will cover the regionincluding the Ly-Alpha forest at these redshifts, as well asthe corresponding C IV lines. So far, the striking result ofthe deep surveys for galaxies associated with Ly-Alpha cloudsat very low-redshift is the spatial correlation of the cloudswith superclusters and other large structures in the galaxydistribution. We plan to see if this correlation extends tointermediate redshifts, which will have implications for theinterpretation of the evolution of the Ly-Alpha forest.
