By means of N-body simulations (see Semelin & Combes 2002, for a description of the adopted code), we studied the angular momentum (hereafter AM) evolution in dissipationless minor mergers between a giant S0 galaxy and an elliptical dwarf with mass ratio 1:10. We found that satellites on direct orbits decay faster than those on retrograde orbits. The orbital AM is converted into internal AM of the two galaxies during the merging process. The redistribution of orbital AM and orbital energy between the baryonic and the dark matter component leads to a decrease in the v/σ ratio especially in the outer regions (Qu et al 2009).
