Recent UV, optical and IR observations of classical novae in outburst indicate the existence of a class of novae which show enhanced abundances of Ne, Al, Mg and other intermediate mass elements in their ejecta. The outbursts in these systems are predicted to have occured on oxygen-neon-magnesium (ONeMg) white dwarfs. We present results from a series of hydrodynamic studies designed to model nova outbursts on ONeMg white dwarfs. In order to explore the possible initial conditions relevant to such outbursts, we have run several evolutionary sequences in which we have separately varied the mass of the white dwarf, the accretion rate, and the assumed amount of mixing between the core material and the accreted envelope material. These calculations employ a nuclear reaction network (78 nuclei, up to (40) Ca) which has been directly coupled to the hydrodynamics. We focus our attention on how the energetics of the outburst and the nucleosynthesis during the outburst depend on the parameters we have varied. We discuss the ranges of these parameters which we believe will lead to realistic ONeMg nova outbursts.
