We present 800 and 1100 microns observations of the spiral galaxy NGC 3079. The observations show definite off-nucleus emission. These data have been combined with IRAS, radio and mm observations to produce a continuum spectrum from 12 microns to 20 cm of the inner 72'' of the galaxy. Single temperature dust models fit the submm/FIR data, but produce too large a gas-to-dust ratio when compared with CO observations. The data can be fit equally will with two component models and in some cases produce reasonable gas-to-dust ratios. The thermal bremsstrahlung radio component has been used to calculate the star formation rate in the nuclear region and is found to agree well with the FIR luminosity of the warm dust. Comparison of the spatial scales between the submm and radio emission shows the radio emission to be more compact.
