We present high resolution spectra of the four Balmer-dominated supernova remnants (SNRs) in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The data allow us to measure the width of the narrow component of \ha\ emission in the non-radiative (Balmer-dominated) filaments present in these SNRs. We find that the line widths range from 30 to 50 \kms\ FWHM. These widths are similar to the only previously measured width in a non-radiative shock filament, that of ~ 30 \kms\ in the NE Cygnus Loop. The line widths do not appear to scale with shock velocity over the range of shocks present in these four remnants. These observations limit the possible broadening mechanisms for the narrow component emission. We discuss several possibilities, the most promising of which is a shock precursor associated with cosmic rays.
