In this paper, we analyse a a 48h high-resolution time sequence of the quiet Sun photosphere obtained with the Solar Optical Telescope onboard Hinode. Using floating corks advected by velocity fields inferred from photometry measurements, we show that long-living Trees of Fragmenting Granules play a crucial role in the advection of small-scale magnetic fields and in the build-up of the magnetic network.
