Observations are presented from four early-type galaxies that have been chosen due to the presence of emission lines, in order to compare the kinematics of gas and stars. The comparison is rendered the more significant by the morphological similarity of the galaxies. The kinematics of the sample are interpreted; these indicate a lack of clear connection between stellar rotational velocities and galaxy flattening.
