In the 2000/2001 apparition of Jupiter, the planet was viewed by every possible technique, ranging from spacecraft imagery by Cassini and Galileo (Journal 111(2), p.59 & cover), through professional imagery at many infrared wavelengths, and amateur imagery at visible and infrared wavelengths, to visual observing and drawing. Some of the best drawings sent in are shown on the inside cover of this Journal. Two regions were of special interest in 2000/01: the South Equatorial Disturbance, and the North Equatorial Belt.
