The deployment of ODI at WIYN will enable a very wide variety of scientific projects. I will review the new capabilities afforded by ODI and discuss the scientific projects that serve as drivers for those capabilities. I will in particular emphasize the broad range of astrophysical problems that benefit greatly from the wide-field, good image quality, UV sensitive and narrow-band capable observations promised by ODI on WIYN.
