IR photometry of quiescent black hole X-ray novae (XRNe) has been used extensively to constrain the compact object mass, under the assumption that the flux from the accretion disk is negligible in, for example, the K-band. However, we have recently shown that this is not the case for the well studied black hole system GRO J0422+32, significantly affecting previous mass estimates. Here we propose high resolution K-band spectroscopy of three additional systems, to ascertain the dilution of the K-band flux by the accretion disk. These observations will also allow us search for evidence of CNO processing in the secondary star.
