We present the results of a multiwavelength survey of NGC 6946. We used several recombination lines of hydrogen to assess extinction in this galaxy and then applied that extinction map to other images to correct them. The near infrared images of this galaxy show evidence of a previously known bar. Our data include a new image of NGC 6946 at the wavelength of Brγ where the bar is more prominent than at any other wavelength.
