We present our new 1.2-m telescope, called MERCATOR, which was installed recently at the Observatorio Roque de los Muchachos on the island of La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain). The Mercator Telescope will be operated by the Instituut voor Sterrenkunde, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. For an overview of the science goals and the instruments we refer to the MERCATOR web page: http://www.mercator.iac.es/.
