In the eclipsing binary system RU Monocerotis since its discovery at the beginning of this century the apsides line has rotated by 90°, and photometric as well as spectroscopic observations have allowed to investigate anew its physical parameters. At present, this is one of the best studied systems with apsidal motion. The authors determined the new value of the parameter k2 = 0.0068 reflecting the internal constitution of the star.
