We show that free neutrons in relativistic jets from compact ultra-luminous objects alter dynamical and radiative properties of outflows. We review the phases of outflow evolution and analyze observable consequences of neutron-related effects. The neutron-proton decoupling at the acceleration phase produces energetic photons and neutrinos. In many cases the neutrons attain a relativistic velocity dispersion either as a result of the decoupling or due to intrinsic variations of the bulk Lorentz factor. At the time of external shock formation, the interplay between primary and secondary (started by protons from neutron decay) shocks causes a reach variety of phenomena. .
