The evolutionary implications of the period (P) vs magnetogyro ratio (gamma) diagram for pulsars are discussed in brief. The (P, gamma) diagram for 288 pulsars is presented, noting that the chief features present in the (P, gamma) diagram for 84 pulsars are still present. A statistical test employing the (period, period derivative) diagram that makes it possible to discriminate between the magnetic dipole decay-alignment evolutionary model and the gamma enhancement model suggested by the (P, gamma) diagram is described. The results of this test are seen as favoring the gamma enhancement evolutionary model.
