Linear widths of the spiral arms of 27 Shapley-Ames type bc, c galaxies
are presented, along with the distance and corrected absolute blue
magnitude of the parent galaxy. A strong correlation of the latter value
with arm width is found, with a correlation coefficient of 0.89.
Successively brighter bc, c spirals have wider arms.
