Scientific paper

Instruments installed on various Intercosmos satellites for solar observations are identified. These include an X-ray photometer with two gas-proportional counters, a silicon detector for radiation-belt particles, an X-ray photometer with an NaI(Tl) scintillation counter, and an X-ray photometer with a scintillation counter, a silicon particle detector, and two double-chamber proportional counters. Some of the events observed with these instruments are briefly mentioned, and problems involved in making solar observations from satellites in low orbits are discussed.
