The effects of rotation on the measurement of line blocking and equivalent widths from tracings of coude spectrograms have been studied by artificially 'spinning-up' the spectra of two sharp-lined stars. The anticipated decrease in the measured blocking coefficients with increasing angular velocity is confirmed for F stars, while abundances deduced from curve-of-growth analyses are increased owing to the apparent domination of line blending over depression of the continuum as factors affecting equivalent widths.
