The mosaic primary mirror of the Keck telescope is discussed. The way
that the mosaic mirror is being constructed is described, indicating the
advantages and drawbacks of the procedure. The mirror support is
examined, and the major scientific instruments being built especially
for use on the Keck telescope are briefly desribed.
