Quasars with simple convex radio spectra peaked near 1 GHz, or gigahertz-peaked spectrum (GPS) quasars, are examined, focusing on the question of wheter or not GPS quasars are more frequent at ultra-high redshifts. It is found that about half of all ultra-high redshift (z greater than 3) quasars are GPS sources and about half of all GPS quasars are a ultra-high z. This results is used to discuss the possibility of using GPS quasars to detect ultra-high z quasars.
