Consideration is given to the effects of a reacceleration mechanism in compact sources where electron-positron pair production is important. The pairs increase the number of particles to be accelerated and decrease the mean particle energy if the source luminosity remains constant. Emphasis is given to models of the accumulation of cooled electrons waiting to be accelerated. Limits on observed features are used to constrain the population of cooled electrons. Several models are examined, showing that reacceleration of the electrons is not a sufficient means of overcoming the problem.
