This proposal generates interim values of the optical field anlge distortion, and the plate scale, and consists of 3 parts, one to calibrate each FGS unit. These tests are designed to be done for nominal roll on 5/28/91 at 0H Zulu. Two additional off nominal rolls will be performed for each FGS on the same target date. The first five pointings place Star #1 for each target list at five points within the respective pickle. The pattern is: + + + + + with central (0,0) pointing being at the center of the pickle (~12', from the V1 axis). The other four pointings are at (60,0), (0,60), (-60,0), and (0,-60) measured in seconds of arc, from the central pointing. This is the placement of the check star (#1), relative to the center of the pickle, as observed from within the celestial sphere, looking out. Two additional pointings require rolling +/- 20 degrees about Star #1 for pointing (0,0). A total of 7 orbits is required for each FGS.
