Using a standard star (V ~ 12 mag.) in the open cluster NGC 188, the coarse location of the acquisition aperture with respect to the FGS reference frame will be determined and the initial plate scale and orientation of the detector coordinate system with respect to the V2V3 reference frame will be verified. Successful completion of this second phase of the Mission Support Calibration (MSC) procedure will verify Mode III target acquisition. The desired goal for this phase is to locate the center of the target acquisition aperture with an uncertainty not to exceed 0.5 arcsec. It is preceded by the Phase I, HSP-01a. This test will supply aperture positions to the flight data base. Note: This is RPSS file 1503. Revision history: Richards 4/13/88, Slovak 5/20/88, Richards 6/29/88. Converted to V2 instructions Richards 1/10/89. Corrected errors Richards 3/10/89 Updated 3/19/89 Nelson, 5/1/89 Laurent
