We present Chandra ACIS-S observations for a sample of 5 Hickson Compact Groups. Individual galaxies in the sample cover a wide range in morphological type and star-forming activity. Overall, the groups in the sample are thought to be at the early/intermediate stages of an evolutionary path from active star-formation to quiescence. We identify and extract individual X-ray sources in galaxies, taking into account the varying PSF across the detector. We use a combination of spectral fitting and hardness ratios to study the spectral characteristics of identified sources. We investigate multiwavelength scaling relations for both early and late-type galaxies: For star-forming galaxies, we combine our results with our earlier UV+IR star-formation rate (SFR) results, and obtain X-ray luminosity (Lx) vs. SFR correlations. For quiescent galaxies, we use Ks-band stellar mass (M*) estimates to construct the Lx vs. M* correlation. We compare these correlations to those obtained in clusters and in the field. The fraction of AGN in compact groups remains controversial. We take advantage of Chandra's superb resolution to identify candidate AGN, and discuss the prospects for constraining the AGN fraction by a full multi-wavelength approach where we take advantage of ground-based, HST-ACS, Swift UV, Spitzer IR, as well as Chandra X-ray data for our sample.
