Radiative forces and diffusion velocities of a number of representative elements in the atmosphere of the typical Hg-Mn star Kappa Cnc have been computed. A great deal of lines have been introduced in the computations. For one weak and one strong line, the transfer equation has been solved numerically in LTE to see to what extent the use of Milne's (1927) approximation is justified in the computation of radiative forces. A real correlation has been found between the computed diffusion velocities and the observed abundance anomalies. Abundance variations with time have been computed. The results are in good agreement with the observations. The case of yttrium has been discussed.
