A brief review on observational evidences for the standard cosmological
model is presented. The issues discussed are those concerning the cosmic
background radiation, light element abundances and neutrino counting,
the origin of redshifts of extragalactic objects, the evolution of
galaxies and quasars, the origin of galaxies and the timescale problem.
