Scientific paper

A subset of scientific programs addressable by the LTT, a
meridian-pointing imaging survey telescope with no moving parts, is
presented. It is concluded from this exercise that the scientific
programs of the LTT justify its implementation as an early astronomical
facility accompanying the return to the moon.
