It is now known that the Universe contains around 25 % of closure density in the form of non-baryonic dark matter. Various candidates for this dark matter are discussed and detection methods, both direct and indirect are treated. In particular, detection of supersymmetric dark matter through annihilation into antimatter, neutrinos and gamma-rays is described.
