Scientific paper
The new results of timing observation for millisecond pulsars are introduced. The comparisons between the frequency stabilities for atomic time and pulsar time are presented. It is pointed out that the frequency stability for pulsar time is limited by the timing errors. Some schemes to reduce the timing error are discussed. With the implementing of the millisecond pulsar timing array (PTA), the application of pulsar time will become possible in the near future. The possible application may include time keeping by combining of millisecond pulsar with atomic clocks, constructing an ensemble pulsar time scale, detecting the error in atomic time scale via PTA and so on.
