Based on asymmetries (Trellis,1960) and on other observational features of the red line corona a linear model of Rossby waves in the red line emanating coronal layer is proposed. Long-term evolution of the solar polar magnetic field induced by the first Rossby mode is simulated with the help of a magnetic rotator image. The model demonstrates the reversal of the line-of-sight magnetic field component in solar polar caps and what is more the same line-of-sight magnetic polarities of polar caps ("the line-of-sight solar magnetic monopole") at the moment of reversal. Fixing the 1 gauss strength for the solar polar magnetic field line-of-sight component, the 3 nT strength for the heliospheric polar magnetic field radial component at 1 AU ("Ulysses" measurements), the differential rotation curve (Howard and Harvey,1970), the model provides the period of reversal of the line-of-sight magnetic field component in polar caps equal to 24,64 years.
